Soft Video Phone for Packet8 Service
Packet8 SoftTalk, a new softphone with video capability for the Packet8 VoIP service. The softphone will be available in the first quarter of 2006
The softphone enables subscribers to make and receive unlimited free voice and video calls from other SoftTalk users, as well as other Packet8 VoIP and video phone customers.
Zingo to Take On Canadian Cable, Telecom, VoIP Companies
In what the company calls “an aggressive campaign” it will tackle “over-priced” Internet telephone services from VoIP, cable and telecom providers. “We feel the Canadian consumers are being over charged and we intend to correct that,” stated Cynthia Krahn of ZingoTel’s Canadian marketing department.
Skype and Netgear unveil standalone Wi-Fi phone
NETGEAR and Skype Technologies S.A. have developed a Wi-Fi phone that works on Skype’s VoIP service. The Skype Wi-Fi phone targets consumers, rather than businesses.
